California Park now resides within its orange reopening plan, and can open outdoor attractions and animal exhibits while keeping indoor aquariums and rides closed; in addition, social distancing restrictions have been lifted.
1. Electric Eel
Moray eels use electric current to navigate their aquatic habitat. Morays produce low-voltage pulses to emit an electronic map of their surroundings; similar technology is also employed by certain other animals for reading magnetic fields and echolocation purposes.
SeaWorld San Diego recently reopened under more relaxed state guidelines for zoos, which allowed its rides to resume operating and enabled hundreds of workers to be hired as restrictions are eased.
2. Manta Coaster
SeaWorld made their most significant investment when they introduced Manta Coaster in 2012. Featuring double launches and steep backs to simulate flying like a stingray, this ride gives visitors a sensation of flight like no other attraction can.
Manta Coaster provides an intense ride that thrills riders, but also boasts aquarium viewing tanks showcasing exotic marine life – providing relief to anyone waiting in line during peak season.
As our region now falls within the orange tier of state COVID-19 guidelines for zoos, all rides will remain open at reduced capacities.
3. Tentacle Twirl
Tentacle Twirl, a wave swinger which reminded me of Silly Symphony Swings. Additionally, you'll find family-friendly rides such as OctaRock, Aqua Scout and Oscar's Rockin' Eel here.
Other attractions at SeaWorld include its latest submarine adventure, Manta reCHARGED and an acrobatic show featuring its whales. Furthermore, Explorer's Reef shines at nighttime with pulse-pounding beats and colorful laser beams before culminating with an amazing fireworks show over this very same reef!
4. Riptide Rescue
This attraction combines thrills with educational experiences that encourage visitors to care about marine animals and our world's fragile ocean ecosystem. It will include undersea research bases displaying unique animal species such as octopuses, moray eels, Japanese spider crabs and spiny king crabs.
Other new attractions at the park include Turtle Reef, a medium-sized aquarium with dozens of sea turtles and thousands of tropical fish; Riptide Rescue – an exhilarating ride with rotating seats; and several rides targeted to younger visitors such as Abby's Sea Star Spin and Elmo's Flying Fish.
5. Bayside Skyride
SeaWorld San Diego reopened Monday under new, relaxed state guidelines for zoos; however, thrill rides and coasters remain closed while animal exhibits and presentations remain open.
Bayside Skyride was established in 1967 to offer breathtaking views of both amusement park and city from its gondola ride, while kids three and up can ride. A companion older than 14 must accompany those under 142 cm tall for safe passage.

6. Journey to Atlantis
With the end of the regional stay-home order, businesses and attractions have started slowly opening again; among these is San Diego's SeaWorld.
This exciting flume ride brings Atlantis to life through various ride elements and surprises – perfect for both kids and adults!
This simulator offers hours of fun for children of all ages – even though it falls outside the traditional definition of thrill rides! With only 10 minutes per ride lasting less than an hour. It makes an excellent option for parties.
7. Shipwreck Rapids
This exciting raft ride takes guests along a thrilling path of choppy waters and cascading waterfalls, offering them the thrill of adventure – not without getting wet of course! Expect an adventureful journey that may leave guests wet to their bones!
Attraction featuring an alluring beach and surf atmosphere offers guests a chance to meet some of their favorite Sesame Street characters from a safe distance, while providing bounce areas and water play activities.
8. Bay of Play
The Bay of Play is an area specifically tailored to young ones that features rides and attractions from Sesame Street. Kids can ride Abby's Sea Star Spin teacup ride, take virtual flight with Elmo's flying fish or just simply have fun in this kid-centric space!
Now that the state has eased coronavirus restrictions, many businesses have started to reopen. Unfortunately, however, the City of San Diego is suing SeaWorld over $12 million of back rent that it claims they owed during the pandemic.
