South West Region
Ireland Golf Destination: South West Region The South West of Ireland is famous for its superb links golf. The three main Airports are Shannon in County Clare, Kerry Airport at Farranfore County Kerry and Cork Airport. All three airports have a direct service from the UK and Europe. The transatlantic airport for the region is Shannon with direct routes from Boston and New York and other routes depending on the time of the year. The most popular route that golfers who arrive into Shannon take starts at Dromoloand golf course followed by Lahinch and Doonbeg. The trip can be extended to include the Old Head of Kinsale and Foto Island in Cork known locally as little island golf course.
